I'll upload my proper photos next week.

Yes, the Cherry Blossom is blooming in Japan. It's not at its peak yet in Tokyo, but still pretty impressive.
I took this photo from my mobile phone in Chidorigafuchi, just round the corner from my office.
The other weekend when we were in Shizuoka, we also went to Tanuki Lake, near Miyako's parents house, which offers great views of Mount Fuji on a clear day.
Zoe, Simon: this is what you were missing when we stayed the overnight at the hotel on the lake and it was cloudy.....

Tuesday was a bank holiday here so we made it into a long weekend and spent 4 days in Shizuoka. The highlight was visiting Makaino Bokujo, a farm for kids with goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, wallabies, sheep, lambs, pigs, ducks, cows, horses and ponies.
We started by introducing Kai to the goats and rabbits. He was slightly nervous at first, but he learnt that he could trust them and before long was feeding them, touching them and later, chasing them.
Kai got on especially well with the smaller animals: goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, wallabies. He was pretty scared of the cows and horses.
Overall Kai had a really great time and was laughing out loud with his new "friends". We went back a second time the same weekend as he loved it so much!

We've put all the photos of Kai from the last 3 weeks or so into one album.

We live around 20 minutes walk from Odaiba, where among other attractions, there is a beach. At this time of year it is deserted, so a fun place for Kai to play.

Last week Kai went with his friends to a travelling zoo for kids. They had rabbits, puppies, chicks, goats, chickens and so on. He had a great time, trying to feed carrots to the chicks and chatting with the puppies.

Kai experienced playing in a sandpit for the first time on Wednesday; he went with some friends of his and loved it

Miyako in our New Flat
The view is much better from the other windows, but there is more going on in this direction: a new road and station are being constructed.
Yeah Trains!
Kai loves trains, cars, anything with wheels.
And here are the photos from February!
We went to a basketball match: Tokyo v Osaka and Kai started to eat for himself with a fork and spoon.
Here are photos of Kai from January.
Highlights were playing in the snow and visiting the zoo....
